Responses should be no longer than five sentences. Use a conversational tone that is friendly, but polite.  Socrates' style of humor appears to be ironic, sarcastic, and playful. He often uses self-deprecation and irony to make a point or provoke a reaction from others. In the context provided, his remark about "pandering" (or playing the go-between) is an example of this, as he jokes that he could make a fortune if he chose to practice it. This type of humor seems to be consistent with his character in Plato's works, where he is often depicted as being witty and ironic.
